Deux victoires au général et chez les Juniors avec Lucas Frayssinet et Edwin Traynard, et deux dans la catégorie Gentleman avec Philippe Bourgois : Chazel Technologie Course a monopolisé la première marche des podiums au Circuit Paul Armagnac de Nogaro. Edwin Traynard repart du premier rendez-vous du calendrier en tête du classement général, mais les écarts sont extrêmement serrés et la concurrence prépare déjà sa riposte pour Magny-Cours !
Forte de son plateau record de vingt-cinq concurrents, l’Alpine Elf Europa Cup lançait sa cinquième saison dans le Gers avec un peloton mêlant de fins connaisseurs de l’Alpine A110 Cup et des novices issus de tous les horizons.
COURSE 1 : DOUBLÉ FRAYSSINET, TRIPLÉ CHAZEL
Si Louis Méric (Race Cars Consulting) dominait la première séance d’essais libres, Lucas Frayssinet le relayait dans la foulée avant de confirmer ses bonnes prédispositions pour s’offrir la première pole position de la saison. Le Français devançait Paul Cauhaupé (Patrick Roger Autosport GP), Louis Méric, Simon Tirman (Autosport GP) et Edwin Traynard dans un top cinq monopolisé par les Juniors.
Le poleman conservait les rênes de la course au départ alors que Simon Tirman gagnait deux places pour s’installer devant Louis Méric et Rodolphe Wallgren (Herrero Racing), sixième sur la grille. En parallèle, Paul Cauhaupé devait renoncer en étant victime d’un problème de sélecteur de boîte de vitesses.
Le leader creusait progressivement l’écart sur ses poursuivants, engagés dans une lutte de tous les instants. La hiérarchie évoluait sous l’impulsion de Rodolphe Wallgren, qui surprenait Louis Méric au septième tour avant de partir à l’assaut de Simon Tirman. Au terme d’une longue bataille, Rodolphe Wallgren trouvait l’ouverture, mais Lucas Frayssinet comptait déjà un avantage de sept secondes.
Lucas Frayssinet contrôlait son avance pour sceller sa première victoire en Alpine Elf Europa Cup. Rodolphe Wallgren et Simon Tirman l’accompagnaient sur le podium général, tout comme Simon Tirman et Louis Méric chez les Juniors. Edwin Traynard complétait le top cinq, devant Thibaut Bossy (Herrero Racing), Alexis Garcin (Herrero Racing) et Gosia Rdest (Chazel Technologie Course). Neuvième sous le damier, Philippe Bourgois parachevait le triplé de son équipe en dominant la catégorie Gentleman face à Anthony Fournier (Race Cars Consulting) et Pierre Macchi (Patrick Roger Autosport GP).
COURSE 2 : TIRMAN COUPÉ DANS SON ÉLAN, TRAYNARD VAINQUEUR
La deuxième qualification tournait à l’avantage de Simon Tirman, qui s’emparait de la pole position le jour de son vingt-sixième anniversaire pour moins d’un dixième de seconde d’avance sur Edwin Traynard, Louis Méric et Paul Cauhaupé.
Simon Tirman réalisait un excellent envol pour rester en tête d’un quatuor inchangé tandis que Louis Maurice (Code Racing Development) débordait Thibaut Bossy pour le gain de la cinquième place. Dans un scénario similaire à la veille, le leader s’échappait progressivement au fil des boucles alors que Rodolphe Wallgren enchaînait les dépassements.
Alors que l’intensité montait à tous les niveaux, la course basculait au huitième tour avec l’abandon de Simon Tirman en raison d’une perte de puissance causée par un souci sur la wastegate. Edwin Traynard héritait alors des commandes, talonné par Louis Méric et Paul Cauhaupé. En parallèle, Rodolphe Wallgren trouvait l’ouverture sur Louis Maurice peu avant l’arrêt de Lucas Frayssinet, victime d’une crevaison due à un problème de valve.
Composant sous la pression de ses poursuivants, Edwin Traynard tenait bon pour signer sa deuxième victoire en Alpine Elf Europa Cup, deux ans après son premier succès, déjà à Nogaro. Il l’emportait tant au général que chez les Juniors face à Louis Méric et Paul Cauhaupé. Rodolphe Wallgren et Louis Maurice complétaient le top cinq devant Thibaut Bossy, Romain Brun (Code Racing Development), Alexis Garcin et Gosia Rdest. Dixième, Philippe Bourgois scellait son doublé et la deuxième triple victoire de Chazel Technologie Course en devançant Laurent Richard (Herrero Racing) dans la catégorie Gentleman.
Au classement général, une première hiérarchie se dessine, mais les écarts restent infimes d’autant que six pilotes différents représentant cinq équipes se sont hissés sur le podium ce week-end. Le leader Edwin Traynard ne compte que trois points d’avance sur Louis Méric et Rodolphe Wallgren, et six sur Lucas Frayssinet avant la deuxième épreuve du calendrier sur le Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours (12-14 mai).

« Les jours se suivent, mais ne se ressemblent pas ! Nous avons affiché un excellent rythme d’entrée, nous avons réalisé une belle qualification et j’étais très satisfait de ma première victoire. J’avais à cœur de faire aussi bien le lendemain, mais nous avons malheureusement eu un problème de valve. Nous sommes donc partis dans le peloton et je n’ai pas pu éviter le trafic. Nous avons ensuite connu une récidive de notre souci. Je suis déçu, mais cela n’enlève rien à ma joie après mon premier succès et je sais que nous reviendrons plus forts à Magny-Cours. »

« Je suis très content de cette victoire, mais c’est dommage pour Simon comme nous n’avons pas eu l’occasion de nous battre sur la piste. J’ai réussi à imposer mon rythme en tête, ce qui n’est jamais simple en l’absence de point de mire et j’ai pu dérouler pour l’emporter comme il y a deux ans à Nogaro. Je veux remercier l’équipe Chazel Technologie Course pour son énorme travail ce week-end comme cela faisait deux ans que je n’avais plus piloté l’Alpine A110 Cup. Je suis confiant pour Magny-Cours, mais il faudra travailler pour jouer à nouveau aux avant-postes comme à chaque meeting ! »
Philippe Bourgois (vainqueur de la catégorie Gentleman en course 1 et course 2)
« Il ne faut pas se réjouir trop rapidement, mais la saison commence sur les chapeaux de roues. Plus que la victoire, ce qui me procure le plus de plaisir est probablement le fait de pouvoir me rapprocher des plus jeunes qui étaient beaucoup plus loin l’an dernier. Cela reste difficile, mais j’arrive à me rapprocher et cela me donne beaucoup de plaisir et d’envie pour la suite de la saison ! »
Louis Chazel (team manager Chazel Technologie Course)
« C’est un week-end parfait sur le plan comptable avec une superbe victoire de Lucas Frayssinet, dominateur durant la première qualification et la première course. C’est une valeur sure du championnat et nous savons qu’il faudra compter avec lui cette année malgré son manque de réussite lundi avec les problèmes de valve que nous allons analyser. Fort heureusement, Edwin Traynard l’a relayé aux avant-postes pour valider notre travail. Nous sommes confiants pour Magny-Cours, d’autant que Philippe Bourgois a également réalisé le doublé chez les Gentlemen pour lancer sa campagne de reconquête du titre. Nous avons hâte d’être avec l’Alpine A110 Rally au Rallye Lyon-Charbonnières avant de retrouver les circuits à Magny-Cours. Nous avons la chance d’avoir une cohésion entre les différentes Alpine de compétition, donc j’espère que nous pourrons continuer cette belle histoire sur les circuits et dans les spéciales avec Alpine ! »

CHAZEL WINS ON ALL FRONTS AT NOGARO
Chazel Technologie Course monopolised the top step of the podiums at the Circuit Paul Armagnac in Nogaro with two overall and Junior victories with Lucas Frayssinet and Edwin Traynard, and another two in the Gentleman category with Philippe Bourgois. After round one of the season, Edwin Traynard leads the general classification, but the gaps are extremely close and the competition is already preparing its response for Magny-Cours!
With a record field of twenty-five entries, the Alpine Elf Europa Cup launched its fifth season in Nogaro with a mix of Alpine A110 Cup specialists and beginners from all horizons of the sport.
RACE 1: A FRAYSSINET DOUBLE, A CHAZEL TRIPLE
While Louis Méric (Race Cars Consulting) dominated the first free practice session, Lucas Frayssinet took over in session two before confirming his promising pace to claim the first pole position of the season. The Frenchman was followed by Paul Cauhaupé (Patrick Roger Autosport GP), Louis Méric, Simon Tirman (Autosport GP) and Edwin Traynard in a top-five monopolised by the Juniors.
The poleman kept the lead at the start, while Simon Tirman gained two positions, moving ahead of Louis Méric and Rodolphe Wallgren (Herrero Racing), who started sixth. Meanwhile, Paul Cauhaupé called it a day with a gearshift failure.
The leader extended his advantage from his pursuers, who were engaged in a constant battle. The running order changed under the impulse of Rodolphe Wallgren, who surprised Louis Méric on lap seven before setting his sights on Simon Tirman. Rodolphe Wallgren eventually moved into second place after an intense duel, but Lucas Frayssinet was now seven seconds down the road.
Lucas Frayssinet controlled his lead to seal his maiden victory in the Alpine Elf Europa Cup. Rodolphe Wallgren and Simon Tirman joined him on the overall podium, as did Simon Tirman and Louis Méric in the Juniors catgeory. Edwin Traynard completed the top five, ahead of Thibaut Bossy (Herrero Racing), Alexis Garcin (Herrero Racing) and Gosia Rdest (Chazel Technologie Course). Ninth at the chequered flag, Philippe Bourgois completed his team's hat-trick as he dominated the Gentleman category ahead of Anthony Fournier (Race Cars Consulting) and Pierre Macchi (Patrick Roger Autosport GP).
RACE 2: TIRMAN STOPPED IN HIS TRACKS, TRAYNARD WINNER
Simon Tirman celebrated his 26th birthday by taking the pole position for race two by less than a tenth of a second ahead of Edwin Traynard, Louis Méric and Paul Cauhaupé.
The poleman made an excellent start to stay ahead of an unchanged quartet, while Louis Maurice (Code Racing Development) overtook Thibaut Bossy for fifth place. In a similar scenario to the previous day, the leader progressively escaped and Rodolphe Wallgren made a series of passes as the laps ticked off.
As the intensity increased throughout the field, the race changed on lap eight when Simon Tirman retired with a loss of power due to a wastegate problem. Edwin Traynard inherited the lead, followed by Louis Méric and Paul Cauhaupé. At the same time, Rodolphe Wallgren overtook Louis Maurice shortly before Lucas Frayssinet stopped with a puncture due to a valve stem failure.
Edwin Traynard kept the chase group at bay to score his second victory in the Alpine Elf Europa Cup, two years after his first success at Nogaro. He won both the general and Junior categories ahead of Louis Méric and Paul Cauhaupé. Rodolphe Wallgren and Louis Maurice completed the top five. Thibaut Bossy was sixth, followed by Romain Brun (Code Racing Development), Alexis Garcin and Gosia Rdest. Tenth, Philippe Bourgois sealed his double and the second triple victory of Chazel Technologie Course by beating Laurent Richard (Herrero Racing) in the Gentleman category.
A preliminary hierarchy is taking shape in the general classification, but the gaps are small with six different drivers representing five teams on the podium this weekend. Edwin Traynard has a slim three-point lead from Louis Méric and Rodolphe Wallgren, with Lucas Frayssinet fourth, six points behind, heading to round two at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours (12-14 May).

"One day is like another, but not the same! We had great pace from the start of the weekend, we qualified strong, and I was tremendously pleased to get my first win. I wanted to do it again the next day, but unfortunately, we had a valve problem. We started in the pack, and I couldn't avoid the traffic. We then had a recurrence of our problem so I'm disappointed, but that doesn't take away from my joy after my maiden success, and I know we will come back stronger at Magny-Cours."

"I am delighted with the win, but it's a shame for Simon as we didn't have the opportunity to battle it out on the track. I managed to set my pace at the front, which is never easy, but I was able to pull away and win as I did two years ago at Nogaro. A big thank you to the Chazel Technologie Course team for their hard work this weekend, as it has been two years since I last drove the Alpine A110 Cup. I feel confident for Magny-Cours, but we will have to work hard to be at the front again!"
